I have a slight variation. Everything is fine at departure (PMDG 747 P3Dv5.4) but Couatl stops completely as I am on final  (using ILS approach) and nothing is available at all, either from keypress or top menu.

The message asks if I want to see the log but Yes shows nothing and No lets me carry on with the landing. I have experienced this at two different airports in 2 different continents.
Maybe this might help you a bit?
