Hi, on starting FSX Accelorator (Operating system Windows 7 with i7 processor) I am now getting the following error message:

"the procedure entry point GetErrorInfo could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-downlevel-ole32-i1-1-0.dll"

Have you any suggestions as to why this is happening and what I can do to stop it from happening?

Many rhanks for any help with this issue.

Hi, I am also running FSX Accel on Win7 and have had the same error message. As a result neither GSX nor any of my 20 FSDT addon airports are functional as it seems Couatl is unable to find whatever it needs. It appears that this may be an issue related to Windows 7 and has been discussed in another thread here:

https://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,33209.msg208586.html#msg208586

I have tried the suggestion to reinstall GSX (and my FSDT airports) using the original installation executable file (gsx_fsx_setup.exe downloaded immediately after purchase) taking care to inhibit the internet connection so that the installation procedure did not perform the automatic update but unfortunately this did not work for me.

Judging from the posts by Virtuali on that thread, I don't think FSDT are going to offer any more help to issues that arise as a result of using the now unsupported Windows 7. He has stated that "any Windows update we must use to keep our products working in currently supported OS and their updates, might break compatibility with Windows 7 at any time" and the update appears to be the reason for this error message for us Win7 users.

I for one however would be more than happy to continue to use my FSDT products in their original state in FSX without the need for any updates to those products. I have a couple of hundred other payware airport scenery addons from other developers ALL of which continue to function perfectly in FSX on Win7 and I cannot see why FSDT cannot allow users of their legitimately purchased products to continue to use them without the need for mandatory updates.

Hi, today I did FSDT update (FSX, Win7) and I have the same message. GSX does not work.
Best regards,
Wojtek

How many airports you have that require an extra software to work (and NOT "just" because of the DRM, we use GSX and SODE to create jetways in all our airports, for example). Windows 7 hasn't gone unsupported "now", it went out of support at these dates:

- Normal end-users support ended in January 2015, more than 10 years ago.

- All support, including corporate and security fixes ended in January 2020, 5 years ago.

And again, we already explained we don't do ANYTHING intentionally to break compatibility with Windows 7. We JUST recompile the software using the latest Windows SDK updates released by Microsoft, which are required to support updates to the currently supported OS.

If you use Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can continue to use all your products, even in your 18-years old simulator (FSX), because we are STILL supporting it, since we can. But not on Windows 7, because we can't and it's out of our hands if something gets broken.

Wojtek:
Is there any way to revert to a previous version of GSX? I had no problems yesterday.
