Unfortunately, one cannot assess GSX Pro without first purchasing it - unless one first purchases an FSDT airport! The manual is not available without a full installation of GSX Pro!
That's not true, there's a Sticky thread on this same section of this forum called
GSX Pro Manual - Download link herehttps://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,27309.0.htmlAnd the manual it's there precisely for the reason that, since GSX Pro is not available in Trial (not entirely true), the manual can be read before purchase.
And your
"one has to read through the manual to Page 10 to find the first indication that there are limitation" it's more like "It's purposely set SO EARLY in the manual that one doesn't have to read all 120+ pages of it"
About GSX not available in Trial, is not even entirely true, because there IS a chance to install it without a license, if you own at least ONE FSDT airport, doesn't matter which one, this because GSX works for free on our airports, so it's possible to install it without a key if you have a license of at least one FSDT airport, so it will work *there* and in other 3 airports, with all the features available.
But that's really not the point. The point is:
- The manual is freely available here.
- The explanation of the Marketplace limitation is explained AS EARLY as Page 10, that is basically immediately after the manal says what GSX is.
- You making it sound as if not being able to use the Seated Passengers feature on Marketplace airplane is the ONLY limitation these planes have because of their encryption. There's a world out there of repainters who are literally begging MS/Asobo to find ways to let them modify the encrypted airplanes, so it's really nothing new.
- Seated Passengers it's just one of the many features in GSX, and there's nothing else right now that doesn't work on Marketplace airplane or airports.
- When GSX Pro first came out, before the Navdata API was released, GSX didn't work AT ALL on Marketplace Airports, because there was no way to read the airport layout due to the encryption of the airport files!
The last point to say: the moment MS/Asobo might eventually add some new SDK feature to Attach/Detach objects to other objects/airplanes without having to modify the airplane files, we would immediately using it, exactly like the Navdata API, which we supported the day it came out.
