Couatl engine doesn't start, even after all known tricks and re-install

(1/2) > >>

Captain45:
All of a sudden after starting P3Dv4.5 GSX is no longer in the ADD ON menu. The Addon Manager does show and can be selected.

I used the FSDT Universal Installer and ran a check on both, GSX and GSXL2. After that to be sure UPDATE ALL.
Still no Couatl active after restart P3D.
I uninstalled GSX, downloaded the full install GSX+L2 for 64 bit and re-installed it.
Again... no Couatl active after restart P3D.
So I tried to enter the serial key, but it tells me (logically) to check firewall and virus.
W-Defender virus has AddonManager in allowed list
W-Firewall has the Couatl engine in the allowd list
Still... no Couatl active after restart P3D.

I'm stuck here. After almost 10 years no GSX. :'(

Logs please?

Captain45:
Couatl.err reads:

couatl v4.8 (build 5105)
panic log started on Sun Jan 1 14:35:21 2023

problem raised by engine or unspecified addon
{}
Stopping Application...

In case neede I attached bglmanx.log

Looked further a bit later....

in C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager the file from add-on.xml

   <AddOn.Component>

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\couatl64\Couatl64_P3D.exe
  </AddOn.Component>

That file exists in that directory but written as couatl64_P3D.exe.
I changed the undercast 'c' of the file into a capital 'C' but that doesn't make a difference (as expected).
That file is dated dec 2 '22 so GSX worked after that. But after the last update (end dec. '22) it did not.

That's the panic log, but is not complete enough for troubleshooting. When GSX doesn't start, you can enable the full log this way:

- open the Notepad and type the following on a new blank file:

logFile=couatl.log

(please note logFile is written beginning with a lower case L and a capital F )

- Save the file as couatl.ini in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder

- Start the sim

- Check your %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder and if there's a Couatl.LOG file there, ZIP it and post its content

Captain45:
Hi,
