I think we can just agree to disagree.  Probly no one who flies FSX will ever hear a real life LSO?  Its all doing just the best you can with FSX and its limitations.  Everyone pays their money for it, and if they want my help (ie, Raz asking the question he did), then I will offer.  If he doesnt take it, NO BIG DEAL for me.  Dont get me wrong, I think you have one of the best knowledge bases about flight and aircraft in general, but in FSX, we just dont see eye to eye.  I think that there are some people that complain things dont work cause they havent grasped the concept or just want to get to the point of doing a decent enough landing to get them on the carrier.  I have absolutely no problem with that whatsoever.  And even tho they arent on the same level of enthusiam as I am, I will still offer my help as much as possible, because in the end, it still is just a simulation/game.

Anyway, im off to the multi tonite, take care

Sludge, perhaps something is 'lost in translation' here but I think we are not really disagreeing - not IMHO anyway. I was trying to make a point (I think) that helping people land who are not willing to learn how to carrier land seems pointless. Sure people can land anyway they like with any non-carrier aircraft but I'm not willing to help them. What is the point. Anyway I need help because it is FSX after all as you say with all the quirks in it and the limitations of the sim. At the beginning of the film 'Catch-22' Yossarian has a conversation over the bomber intercom with the pilot. Yossarian is trying to help a wounded crewman: (or words to that effect)
"Y: Help him.
 P: Help the bombardier.
Y: But I am the bombardier.
 P: So help him.".   ;D

Now have to go - with a big thunderstorm threatening to break - any minute.....

BTW there is excellent help on this forum if people seek it out on the various threads.
