Hopefully we get an answer soon!  What do you think would happen if you just selected "continue?"  Would the FSDT updates be installed or would the update just stop?  I am concerned about continuing because it might cause issues requiring lots of fixes and hassles!!

Nothing happens when you click continue, the updater stops at step 10.

This has been already answered and solved in the thread named "Couatl Live Update error **SOLVED**"

Regret. this method was tried already, but didn't solve the problem. Issue still exists.
Kindly advise.

I cannot replicate the problem, and every user that had it before confirmed it was fixed as explained in the linked thread. Be sure you follow the steps, including rebooting windows, be sure you configure the antivirus to exclude the whole Addon Manager folder and be sure you don't have a firewall blocking some of the the download.

However, you don't say anything about your settings. The OP said he uses Windows 7, are you too ?

raman93:
Guys,

Please check your addon manager folder. you must find a new couatl- updater2 exe file. Try running it . I also noticed that  a new exe file is in place. i was using the old couatl updater due to which the error showed.
Attached snapshot for reference.

Could be you used a previous GSX Beta ( sometimes we released public beta versions to try ) ?

If yes, that would explain why you had an old updater: the Couatl_updater.exe, which is the one you are supposed to ALWAYS use, is supposed to automatically download the Couatl_updater2.exe and start it ( it doesn't do anything else ) but, if you installed a BETA Couatl_updater, it will download the BETA Couatl_Updater2 from the Beta server, which is not updated to the latest version, it will be only in case we'll ever start a new public Beta.

You can recognize a Beta updater because it has a Beta indication on the window name on top. The only way to get rid of a Beta updater, is to remove it manually, and reinstall a non-Beta FSDT product, or download it from this direct link:

Thanks raman93!  I ran the Couatl_updater2.exe in the addon manager folder and it ran successfully. The icon properties on my desktop indicates the updater2 exe file was created April 19, 2020.  Did I use the right one?  FYI I am running FSX.

Thanks!
