Custom service vehicle paint
« on: August 08, 2019, 08:29:51 am »
Hey Umberto,

Thanks for the PBR update for GSX, it looks great.
However, I have repainted the pushback trucks, for example for Fraport to look like this:

Before the PBR update I was able to put that texture in the texture folder of the respective pushback truck and it would display it. Now it shows all black.

Is there a way to this in the latest version as well?

Cheers
Nizar

Assuming you want to repaint the PBR FSDT_Pushback_03, it's best if you create a new "Base" color, by creating a new folder inside of it, for example:

- Create this folder inside Addon Manager\Simobjects\PBR\FSDT_Pushback_03

texture.fra

- Copy your custom texture there, which must be named FSDT_Pushback_03_ALBEDO.dds and should be 2048x2048 in DXT1 format

- Copy a texture.cfg from another base folder, like texture.blue into the newly created folder

- Add a new [flightsim] section to the SIM.CFG, with a number +1 higher than the last one, for example:

[fltsim.15]
title=FSDT_Pushback_03_FRA
model=03
texture=fra
couatl.icaoprefixes = EDDF

Note that, any time you run an FSDT Live Update, all your changes will be removed.

Hello,
two questions:
Dear Umberto,
is there a forum section such as for airplanes or scenery where members - if they wish - are posting their customized vehicle things? or am I just blind?

Dear Nizar,
how can I get your customized fra pushback texture?

tks, rgds
Andreas

Thank you very much Umberto!  :)

@Andreas: I am still painting, so it won't be available for a while. But if Umberto is ok with it, I can upload the repaints here at a later stage.
