Are you getting a black screen when running the installer, or are you getting a black screen when you select the server-assisted Reinstall inside flightsim ?

Also, you don't say which FS version you are using. If you are using FS9, that is a known FS9 problem that, with some video drivers, can't display a standard Windows dialog in full screen. If this is the case, as suggested on the manual, go to Windowed mode (ALT+Enter) before opening the Addon Manager menu, and go back to full screen when it's done.
